RAGBRai 2026

Day 2 : jULY 20th

guthrie Center

Your Host

Guthrie Center is thrilled to host RAGBRAI LIII as an overnight town on Monday, July 20, 2026!

After the hilliest ride of the summer, you'll coast down that final hill on Highway 44, glance out across the countryside, and probably ask yourself: "Where the hill are we?" Follow the riders, the laughter, and maybe a few curious red-and-white stripes, and you'll find yourself rolling right into Guthrie Center.

Once you arrive, there will be plenty to see, explore, and discover around town. We'll be sharing all the sights, activities, and a few hidden surprises on our RAGBRAI Facebook page and here on our website, so be sure to check in with us as we count down the days.

Don't let our size fool you. Our small but mighty town of 1,600 is ready to show up in a big way. From warm welcomes to generous hospitality and a celebration worthy of the ride, Guthrie Center will be ready when you coast into town.

Just keep your eyes open... you never know what—or who—you might spot along the way.

Mike Herbert, Mayor of Guthrie Center

Our Mission

Guthrie Center will provide every rider with exceptional hospitality in a safe and fun environment that showcases our big hills and strong small-town pride.

Overnight towns are the heart of RAGBRAI, and they only shine because neighbors step up to volunteer. Whether you’re helping direct riders safely through town, welcoming visitors at information booths, setting up campgrounds, serving food, or pitching in with cleanup, every role makes a real difference. Volunteering is a fun, flexible way to show off your community pride, meet people from all over the country, and be part of an unforgettable Iowa tradition. Even a few hours of your time helps create the warm, welcoming experience riders remember long after they roll out of town.
